| BEDFORD HOUSING FORUM #2 WEDNESDAY MARCH 20, 2024 ATTEND: MARCH 20, 2024 – HOUSING FORUM 2 This subject may not seem interesting to you but it is very important if you care about your neighborhoods in Bedford. It is important that you attend this forum as the state is pushing for mandates to urbanize small towns. READ: Report from Housing Forum 1 After reading some of the statements made in the above report of the first forum we have these questions: – when in the past has the government taken over housing? – why the threat that courts will decide if Bedford does not comply? – when in the past has housing NOT been scarce or too expensive for some people? – why don’t the 18% of the people who you say think their home is too big, just sell it and move? – why are towns like Bedford being targeted as if they are responsible for the shortage? – why do single-family zoned neighborhoods need to be broken up when it is admitted that it would not help to solve shortages? – why should an unelected regional government dictate what Bedford needs?  All towns should support CACR 16 to insure local control! We are working to keep CACR 16 afloat. It will amend the NH constitution to make sure towns can still have control over what they do with housing and zoning, per their voters.
