| ***EMERGENCY!*** PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR OPPOSITION TO SB 84 Damaging housing bills are being fast-tracked faster than we can keep up with them! The Senate Commerce Committee this morning was discussing SB 84, a bill that would FORCE THE MINIMUM LOT SIZE allowance to 1/2 acre!!! There was no opposition, but plenty of support by these groups. TESTIMONY FROM JASON SORENS (Author of the “NH Zoning Atlas”) TO REDUCE LOT SIZES to 1/2 ACRE WAS SUBMITTED. The NH Home Builders Assn, NH Assn of Realtors, and AFP-NH are all pushing for forcing the lowering of lot sizes and for eradicating single-family zoning altogether! This is just ONE of many bills that should be OPPOSED vigorously! There are a host of others. A new Senate Subcommittee on Housing has been formed to rubber stamp these bills, with Senator Keith Murphy as the Chair. Murphy is the author of many of these bills. When it goes to the subcommittee there will be no public testimony taken. We are not sure if the portal to register your opposition will be valid since the bill was heard at 10 AM this morning, but you can and should EMAIL the full COMMERCE COMMITTEE to tell them you absolutely oppose SB 84. (emails are below) Please do not waste time in emailing the Commerce Committee with your short, personal and respectful message of opposition.
