| Foster Care and Vaccination Bill I apologize, I missed this bill yesterday. Wednesday, April 12th, N.H. Senate HHS Room 101, LOB 10:00 a.m. – SUPPORT –HB 408, relative to foster children and vaccinations. Several years ago, DHHS amended rules regarding vaccines and foster families to require that all the children in the household be fully vaccinated to ACIP standards in order to care for a foster child. As a result, many capable and loving families stopped fostering children. This bill seeks to eliminate this cruel standard by saying that a child living in the home but not in foster care shall be subject to the same vaccination requirements as any other child in the state with the same right to exemption.Click here to register your disposition. I’d like to clear some things up. Two years ago, we did push for the state of emergency reform to be added to the budget to force the governor to sign it. But this term is quite different than last term politically. 1. Last term we were dealing with an acceptable budget. So far the House version of the budget has historic increases in spending. As it stands right now, this is a fiscally irresponsible budget. HB 127 was only added to entice fiscal conservatives to vote for this bloated budget. 2. If the Senate intended to keep HB 127 in the budget, they would have retained it. Instead they voted to ITL, which likely means they intend to remove the language from the budget. 3. Last term, we had a true Republican trifecta. This term, the House majority is almost non-existent. Passing a budget at the end of the day will be extremely difficult. If the budget fails, we no longer have HB 127 to be the back up if the Senate kills it. Towards Liberty, Melissa Blasek Executive Director, RebuildNHFollow us on Social ![]() |
