Good day, all,
Five election law complaints were filed with the NHDOJ on Friday, May 3, 2024. These complaints are regarding the March 12, 2024, Hampton, NH town election and the subsequent citizen petitioned recount that occurred on March 27, 2024.
Complaint 1 – March 12, 2024, several election box ballot seals either missing or incomplete. A VIOLATION OF NH RSA 659:95.
PICTURE OF SOME BALLOT BOXES IS ATTACHED.
Complaint 2 – March 26, 2024, the lead petitioner went to hand deliver an additional request to the town clerk. During that time, it was noted that there were open (unsealed) ballot boxes that had been used in the March 12, 2024, election. Two photos were taken. OPEN BALLOT BOXES ARE A VIOLATION OF NH RSA 669:32.
Complaint 3 – March 27, 2024, at the recount there were a total of 30 ballot boxes, 16 of which were examined.
Complaint 4 – Based on the April 23, 2024, review of the Sealed Ballot Boxes – Chain of Custody Storage Log for the Town of Hampton, March 12, 2024, town election; the following was found: there was actually a total of 47 election ballot boxes, and again, at the recount only 16 boxes out of 47 were open and examined, leaving 31 boxes unexamined during the March 27, 2024, recount. Most of these unexamined ballots also did not contain the proper seal affixed to them for statutory sign off procedures.
Complaint 5 – May 2, 2024, per discussion with the Town Clerk, 45 boxes came from LHS; however, review of pictures of the ballot boxes evidenced that there were no shipping labels from LHS to the Town of Hampton Clerk’s office. How did these boxes get there for the election?
To date, the town has denied physical review of ALL ballot boxes used in the March 12, 2024, Hampton town election.
All republican members of the House Election Committee and all members of the Senate Election Committee have been included in this email correspondence.
A few others as well.
