Celebrating America: The Greatest Nation in the World
Run For The Troops Hosts a Special Event for Veterans and Friends
Andover, Massachusetts — September 13, 2024 — On Wednesday, October 16, 2024,
from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM at the North Andover VFW Post 2104, Run For The Troops will host
a special event to join together with veterans and friends in celebration of our great nation.
“I’m repeatedly hearing news outlets, fellow citizens, and even close friends criticizing
the United States,” said Bill Pennington, Founder of Run For The Troops, a non-profit
organization that offers life-changing support to active military, veterans, and their families
through community-based events and initiatives. “One day, I sparked the idea to host an event
that would focus on impactful people and periods in our American history that are examples of
why we are blessed to live in the U.S.A.”
The enthusiasm received from others has been tremendous. “I was thrilled when Bill
presented this idea. There is no better time than now to remind people that we, as a country, have so much to be grateful for – and so many to be grateful to, especially our veterans who have served this great nation,” said a volunteer. “The veterans I’ve spoken with are eager to sign-up. This is not intended to be a swanky evening of fundraising. This is a complementary event with the sole mission of celebrating America.”
There will be a cash bar, live music, pizza and desserts, as well as an array of speakers
who are passionate about our country and forever grateful to our active military and veterans.
Topics will include The Gettysburg Address, Ronald Reagan: Tearing Down the Wall, Pearl
Harbor: The Greatest Generation, My Country, and Pearl Harbor: The Aftermath.
Bill Pennington founded Run For The Troops to honor his parents and all those who serve our
country. His mother served in the Marines and his father served in the Navy for 30 years. His
desire to continue to honor and support veterans is fueled by the knowledge of the sacrifices his family, as well as all other veterans, have made. Run For The Troops is a 501c3 organization
that offers life-changing support to active military members, veterans, and their families.
