Rebuild NH update – Require Parental Consent for CDC School Survey

Legislative Update
Week of Jan. 20th, 2025Wednesday, January 22nd, N.H. House

Education Policy and Administration
LOB, Room 205-207

1:00 p.m. – SUPPORT AND AMEND – HB446
This bill requires that non-academic surveys in public schools be emailed to the parents and not simply posted on the school’s website. While I have no issue with this, I wouldn’t consider it to be a priority. However, after speaking with the bill’s sponsor and other activists, we feel this bill is the perfect vehicle to remove the only exception for parental notification for the CDC’s youth risk behavior survey. Parents should have to consent to all non-academic survey’s their children receive.

In your testimony, please ask the committee to strike the exception to parental consent for the CDC’s youth risk behavior survey.

NOTE: There seems to be an issue with the email addresses. Let’s try this again for another week and see if this email works any better. Also send your thoughts via the disposition page.
