| Hearing and Floor Votes Week of March 24, 2025 Of all the bills that are coming up this week, HB 577 is the MOST dangerous. If you do nothing else please take 2 minutes to go to the Senate Portal and register your opposition to HB 577 before March 25th (Tuesday)! OPPOSE HB 577 – This bill expands accessory dwelling units by right to include detached units, adds definitions related to accessory dwelling units, and increases the maximum square footage. https://gc.nh.gov/bill_Status/pdf.aspx?id=6714&q=billVersion Senate Commerce: Public Hearing on 03/25/2025. Use the Senate Portal to ask to ITL. https://gc.nh.gov/remotecommittee/senate.aspx Maybe some of our ‘unapologetic’ Republican Reps will go speak against it at the hearing. The full list of bills that need your attention are here: https://bedfordresidents.com/bra/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/BRA_Bill_Watch2025.pdf For bills that will get a full vote in the House on Wednesday the 26th, email your own State Reps and perhaps also send a note to the list of ‘68’. Ask of your reps, who has the guts to pull these bills off CONSENT and demand a full ROLL CALL VOTE!? Otherwise, they will go on a voice vote and the NAYS will be drowned out. Here is a summary of the bills that will get a vote on the 26th by the full House: HB 229 HB 471 HB 530 HB 410 HB 228 Here is a bill that will get a vote on the 27th by the full Senate: SB 279 DOWNLOAD THE “68” LIST HERE https://www.bedfordresidents.com/bra/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/68Rep.xls There are more bills listed on the Main File that still have not gone through committee and you can still write to the full committee about them. All the links you need are there. https://bedfordresidents.com/bra/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/BRA_Bill_Watch2025.pdf CALL THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE AND DEMAND A CALL BACK 1-603-271-2121 Explain that if some of these bills pass, she needs to VETO them. KELLY.A.AYOTTE@GOVERNOR.NH.GOV (not tested) Always remind these legislators how HOUSING and ZONING bills are chipping away at local control and shifting the tax burden onto the single-family homeowners. And more importantly, how they would be removing the choice of living style for 70% of all NH residents while not helping increase the supply of homes in the least bit. Your help is appreciated! Have a great week. ~ BRA |
