Happy Easter friends,
Today is the day our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rose from the grave to set us free from our sins so that we may have eternal life with Him. He conquered death! Amen!
Matthew 28:5-7 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
Our forefathers knew this and they also knew that by following Jesus, they would have the strength, courage, and determination, needed, to do whatever God called them to do. They trusted in Him and even though they endured pain, suffering, and even death, in leaving us with a structure of government that promoted Liberty, they still persevered and succeeded. They understood that our freedoms come from God and that man did not have the right to take them away. They wanted to give their children the opportunity to live a life of freedom vs bondage.
James 1:25
25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
Galatians 5:13-14
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
As Thomas Paine once said, “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.”
Our forefathers did their part, now we have to do ours. We have to come along side our elected officials and ensure they are doing the job we hired them to do. For far too many years we have stepped back, taken our eyes off of what they are doing, and have lost the structure of government our forefathers left for us. It’s time to put the pieces back together, and we need everyone to do their part.
